Meet CSCD's Physicians

Dr. Peter Malouf

The founder of the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology, Dr. Peter Malouf specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, General Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Cosmetic Surgery, and Dermatopathology.

He graduated with honors from Southwest Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Malouf earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and completed his internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He then attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for years where he was chief resident in dermatology.

He is a diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Liposuction Surgery, and the American Society Laser Medicine.

He has been voted Best Doctor by Fort Worth Magazine every year since 2000, a Texas Monthly Super Doc, and the #1 Cosmetic Producing Practice in Tarrant County by Fort Worth Business Press.

Dr. Diego Marra

One of the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology’s Mohs Surgery specialists, Dr. Diego Marra graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree with special honors in Zoology from the University of Texas. He received his medical training at the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology, graduating magna cum laude with Special Honors in Vascular Biology.

Following medical school, Dr. Marra obtained special training in Mohs Micrographic, Cutaneous Laser, and Cosmetic Surgery. He was awarded a fellowship at the Ronald L. Moy Surgery Center in Los Angeles, and is accredited by the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. He completed his residency in Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.

A diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Marra is the author of peer-reviewed original research published in some of the leading journals in the fields of dermatology and dermatologic surgery, including Archives of Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, and Dermatologic Surgery. His work has been presented at major specialty meetings across the country and internationally.

Dr. Tracie Swayden

Dr. Tracie Swayden has been with the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology since 2002. Her areas of focus are general dermatology and cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Swayden graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She earned her medical degree at the University Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio in May of 2002. She completed her internship in Transitional Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Swayden is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Tarrant County Medical Society.

Dr. Seemal Desai

Dr. Desai is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a Board Certified Dermatologist. He graduated with honors from Emory University. He received his medical training at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and received his Doctor of Medicine degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2005.

Following medical school, Dr. Desai completed his medical internship in Internal Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009, and served as Chief Resident for the Department of Dermatology from 2008-2009.

Dr. Desai has been active on a local, state, and national level with numerous medical organizations. His major accomplishments have been with the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Medical Association, where he has held more than six elected positions.

Dr. Desai is the author of numerous publications and has been invited to present at numerous international Dermatology events. These include the World Congress of Dermatology, the French Society of Dermatology, and most recently the International Congress of Dermatology. His clinical interests include the treatment of vitiligo, and other disorders of pigmentation, psoriasis, and phototherapy.

Dr. Carlos Ricotti

Carlos Ricotti, MD is a board certified dermatologist and assistant instructor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Ricotti's international medical and dermatologic education is extensive and he continues to pursue cutting edge training to provide the best medical care for his patients.

He completed his dermatology residency in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami and an internship in General Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. In 2008 he moved to Dallas with his wife and two children to take a position as fellow in dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern.

Prior to residency training he completed research fellowships in the Wound Healing and Infection Genetics Laboratory and Mohs/Laser Division at the University of Miami. Dr. Ricotti has published and presented more than 60 clinical research studies and case reports at various medical conferences and in journals. His primary focus is medical dermatology with special interests in psoriasis, acne, lasers, dermoscopy, skin cancer, and ethnic skin concerns. He is an active member of several medical societies including the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Ricotti is fluent in English and Spanish and continues to teach, write, conduct research, and run his dermatology clinics in Dallas and Fort Worth.
